Its connection with the traditional custom of kite flying has now inscribed it in our collective memory as a celebration of freedom, a reminder that we can leave behind what weighs us down and spread our wings towards new directions. The kite, gracefully soaring in the sky, is not merely a toy. It is a living symbol of our lives, our goals, and our relationship with the situations and people around us.

I remember from childhood how we made our own kites, or even if we bought them, the men of our family would show us how to reinforce them with ornate “tails” and how to balance them so they could perform better. I still remember with emotion how I showed my child to make his own kite and decorate it like a shining sun with a huge smile and fiery little teeth all around it. Clean Monday in Greece connects us with our roots but is also the day of a valuable metaphor for our very lives.

📌 The “Art of the Kite Reel” in Life

The art of flying a kite is not simply letting the wind carry it away. Nor is it about letting it fall onto power lines. Nor is it about holding it tightly in your hands for fear it might get damaged if you let it fly, when with the right techniques, you could admire it high in the sky along with other colorful kites that dared and succeeded.

It is knowing when to give it space and when to hold it back, feeling the dynamics of the air, and adjusting your movements with flexibility and wisdom.

A skilled operator finds the right balance between giving space and keeping things under control.

If you pull the reel too abruptly, the kite will fall.

If you leave it too loose, it will lose its course and collapse.

If you learn to guide it with precision, then you will see it rise high and dance with the wind.

This applies to our relationships, our careers, our psychology, and even our personal goals. The balance between control and trust is what determines our success.

🧠 NLP and the Kite: The Mind as Life’s Operator

In Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), one of the core principles is that flexibility is power. Being rigid makes us vulnerable, while adapting makes us capable of navigating life with wisdom.

Would you like me to reveal two powerful techniques to help you with this?

✦ Technique 1: Reframing (Changing Perspective)

When something does not go as we wish, instead of viewing it as a failure, we can reframe what exactly happened and what else it might mean for us and our environment. Just as a kite needs different movements to stabilize in the air, so too can we change our perspective to achieve a better balance.

🔹 Example: If you are facing difficulties at work, instead of seeing it as an “unsuccessful attempt,” you can accept it as “an adjustment I need to make to align with the circumstances.”

✦ Technique 2: Anchoring (Creating Emotional Anchors)

Just as a kite needs points of support to stay stable, our mind also needs positive reference points to face difficulties with confidence. This is based on Pavlov’s theory of conditioned reflexes.

🔹 Practical Exercise: Every time you feel confident and strong, take a deep breath and press a specific spot with your hand, e.g., the inside of your wrist. Repeat this pattern several times. Then, when you find yourself in a difficult moment, pressing the same spot will prompt your brain to recall that feeling of confidence!

If you have any questions regarding these techniques, please do not hesitate to contact me!

📌 NLP and the “Art of the Kite Reel”

In Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), there is a fundamental principle: “Flexibility brings power”. The more flexible you are, the more effectively you can guide situations and achieve your goals.

🎯 Life as a Flight

Like the kite, we are called to learn to:
✅ Grant freedom to situations when necessary.
✅ Maintain control when things seem to be getting out of hand.
✅ Adapt to the wind of change instead of resisting it.

This Clean Monday, as you watch the kites in the sky, consider:
🔸 Where do you need to release the reel a little in your life?
🔸 Where do you need to hold it more steadily?
🔸 How can you utilize the “gusts of wind” as opportunities rather than obstacles? 🔸 Perhaps you need to adjust your balance or increase the volume of your kite’s “tail”?

The skilled kite operator does not fear the wind – they use it to their advantage. The same applies in life: challenges are not obstacles, but forces that can lift you, provided you know how to handle them.

🎯 Your Own “Flight”

This Clean Monday, as you observe the kites in the sky, consider:

In which areas of your life do you need to allow more freedom?

Where do you need to regain control?

What beliefs or fears might be keeping you grounded, instead of allowing you to fly high?

This celebration is not just about flying a kite – it is about the flight of your soul. Hold the reel steady, feel the wind on your face, and enjoy the journey. 🚀✨

[52

post-1828","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-nlp-psychology
["GET
